Tutor Day is held each fall semester. It is a time where we invite area high school tutors to Missouri Southern State University to receive training from our CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) certified tutors. Our tutors are current college students who have received valuable training that they then pass along to area high school tutors.
Presentation topics vary, but in the past have included Learning Styles and Personalities, Time Management, and Promoting Self-Learners.
Approximately 100 high school tutors join us to participate in Tutor Day from various southwest Missouri high schools.
The high school tutors not only learn important tutoring information, but they are given the opportunity to visit with various representatives from offices on campus and tour points of interest that include the cadaver lab, the simulation lab, and the radiology technology department, as well as others.
