International Baccalaureate

Missouri Southern will grant up to 30 semester hours or the equivalent of one full year of university study to those who have completed study in the International Baccalaureate curriculum in high school. Missouri Southern will grant university credit and advanced placement for International Baccalaureate courses completed at the higher level with a minimum score of 4.

The 30 semester IB hours are applicable to the overall 48 Alternative credit hours to be earned at MSSU.

As credits not originally earned through instruction from MSSU, accepted credits will be applied as transfer credits on student transcript.

Transfer credits will be articulated for degree-seeking students. For non-degree seeking students, accepted credits may be articulated only if they are needed as pre-requisites for Missouri Southern courses.

Test scores must be reported on an official IB transcript from the IB Institution. MSSU is able to retrieve test scores from the IB Portal.

Students who have taken the International Baccalaureate courses should notify the Office of the Registrar at registrar@mssu.edu
