We are seeking judges and volunteers to run our science fair successfully. We need volunteers to set up display tables, help at the registration desk, and set up awards.
For Judging
The judging session will be on Tuesday, March 25th, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Both high school and junior high school students participate in the fair, and it is always beneficial for them when professionals in their field of interest meet and talk with them while judging their projects.
If you can participate, please sign up online using the following link by Friday, February 28th.
The judging orientation will be in the Billingsly Student Center Room 309 on the MSSU campus on Tuesday, March 25th, at 9:00 a.m. The project judging will be at 9:30 a.m. in the Ballroom of Billingsly Student Center, Room 335. The main judging should finish by noon, after which head judges will stay to select the grand prize winners in the senior and junior divisions. We will provide refreshments to keep you going.
Our guidelines state that we will make every attempt to have at least three judges per category, one of whom is a professional in the field. Head judges will be chosen from professionals from the university or the community and not from student judges. We choose the head judges from those who have agreed to stay to select the grand prize winners, even if the projects in their category are not candidates for the award.
We will send you more information on judging procedures once we compile the judges list. As always, thank you for your help! It is crucial in making the fair a success!
For Volunteering
Volunteers may help with setting up (Monday afternoon, March 24th), registration, clean-up, and judging the Fair on Tuesday, March 25th.
