June 2021, Dr. Melvyn and Mrs. Donna Mosher collection donated 17 Inuit carved pieces and two African art carvings to the Department of Art & Design. Then, in April 2024, Dr. Richard and Mrs. Debbie Reed donated 5 Inuit carved pieces. In conjunction with the 2024 Canada Themed Semester, the Department of Art & Design is setting up a permanent display near the Department of Social Sciences.

This spring, junior English major Melody Reed traveled to Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo for the International Congress of Medieval Studies, an annual conference for medieval scholars from around the world. Reed was one of only six undergraduates in the country selected to present at the Congress.

Missouri Southern State University conferred degrees upon more than 500 students Saturday during two ceremonies inside the university’s Leggett and Platt Athletic Center. In all, Missouri Southern celebrated the accomplishments of 523 students who earned degrees.

The 9th Annual World Music and Cuisine Festival will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Missouri Southern’s Young Gymnasium. Students and community members will serve international dishes while a variety of musical groups perform. For $15 guests receive a wristband to access unlimited food samples while supplies last.
