As Lions, we look after our Pride.
Your health and safety is extremely important to us, and we've put in a lot of effort to make sure you are safe, comfortable and feel at home on-campus. From attentive medical care to protective on-campus police, we do everything we can to look out for your well-being.
The Willcoxon Health Center in Billingsly Student Center is open to all students who are currently enrolled. See our main page for university medical requirements (meningitis, MMR, tuberculosis risk assessment, medical history)
Willcoxon Health Center is our on-campus acute care clinic. This means we offer treatments for many illnesses, infections, muscle strains, skin rashes, colds and more—however, we are unable to treat or offer care for chronic health conditions.
If we can’t help with what’s bothering you, we may be able to help with local resources.
Students are responsible for the cost of some services. There is no charge for a consultation with our providers. Appointments are required. The Health Center has over-the-counter medications and first-aid supplies available at no cost and without an appointment. Please note we are unable to bill insurance.

ALICE is the leading training solution used by universities to increase an individual's odds of survival during a violent intruder event.
ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate.
This training is built on the premise that violence can be measurably and systematically reduced within a community by reducing power-based violence as a proactive and reactive bystander.
During your University Experience class, you will be taught how to implement ALICE in the event of an emergency. We believe providing students with a safety plan creates a stronger sense of community security and enables students to be prepared for anything.
RAVE is an emergency text-messaging system that notifies its users about on-campus emergency information. RAVE users are notified in the event of a dangerous situation on-campus, if the campus is in lock-down, if an accident has happened, and more. This alert system keeps students, faculty/staff and parents aware of what's happening on campus, so they're never caught off-guard in the event of an emergency.
To register to receive emergency text messages on your cell phone, go to www.getrave.com .
Using your Lionet username and password, you can access your account. Add your cell phone number to your personal information.
For additional information, contact University Police.
Our University Police are the first point of contact for campus emergencies.
An officer can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at (417) 623-3131 .
Two emergency phones are located on-campus: one is outside the University Police office and the other is at the south entrance to the tunnel which runs under Newman Road. Picking up an emergency phone will automatically dial University Police.
