Leggett & Platt Athletic Center the indoor sports venue for Missouri Southern State University and the Four-State-Area.
Although it is primarily identified with sporting events, the facility is also used for graduation ceremonies for MSSU and several area high schools and has hosted Presidents of the United States and other distinguished guests.
In 2011, following the Joplin tornado, it briefly
became a Red Cross shelter and reception
area.
Dedicated in 1999, the $7.5 million arena seats up to 4,000 people. It includes a parquet floor basketball court, practice courts, a six-lane track, along with a state-of-the-art weight room and training room.
