About the Degree:
Biology is the study of living organisms. A biology major at Missouri Southern allows you the chance to benefit from a stimulating and challenging curriculum, excellence in teaching and advising and a variety of opportunities for students. Coursework encompasses a wide range of topics and students have the opportunity to choose from five exciting majors.

- The successful graduate from the Biology program will understand and use fundamental biological concepts in the following areas: 1) cell biology, 2) genetics and molecular biology, 3) organismal biology, and 4) ecology, evolution, and population biology.

- The successful graduate from the Biology program will demonstrate satisfactory laboratory and field skills.
