The Missouri Southern State University Dental Hygiene Clinic welcomes patients on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters. The patients receive treatment by our student dental hygienists in order for them to learn proper technique. They are supervised by dental hygiene faculty and a supervising dentist at all times.
If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call or click on the contact information above.
Please provide the following information when requesting an appointment:
Dental cleanings, x-rays and other preventive services are provided in our clinics.
NOT offered are services such as extractions, dentures, fillings, crowns, etc.
Since treatment is provided by students in the program, the treatment procedures are completed at a slower pace than in a dental office. Patients should expect to spend approximately 3 hours in the chair per appointment period. It may take multiple appointments to complete treatment. Please do not request an appointment if you are not willing to commit to the amount of time needed.
Students in the dental hygiene program must complete multiple patient experiences to fulfill their requirements and they must depend upon patients to do this. If you are not able to keep your scheduled appointment, please call the clinic ASAP or with 48 hours prior to your appointment so the student may make other arrangements. Student learning experiences and completion of clinic requirements for graduation, as well as for clinical board examinations are essential; failing to keep your appointment can jeopardize the student’s progress within the program. Patients who fail to provide adequate notification for cancelling their appointment or who fail to show up for appointments may be removed temporarily or permanently from our patient waiting list.
