The 2019 Southern Media Showcase Day was held Thursday, December 5 at Missouri Southern State University.
Around 300 students from around the region gathered for the program. Speakers included presentations about newspaper journalism by Joplin Globe managing editor Emily Younker, and video production presentations by corporate media producer Sam McDonald and video/marketing producer Danny Craven.
Videos highlighting finalists in the student competition were shown and awards presented.
