In 2014, in honor of the 30th anniversary, KGCS established the Outstanding TV Alumni Award. This award recognizes former students who have contributed to the station at Missouri Southern and who have had significant career achievements.
In its inaugural year, three alums received the Outstanding TV Alumni Award and new alumni will be inducted every five years.
The 2019 award recipient was Cliff Erwin, a 2004 graduate of Missouri Southern.
