Awards Honor Media Professionals

The Regional Media Hall of Fame honors media professionals from the region for their outstanding careers in broadcast and print communications.
Honorees receive a crystal award trophy at an awards ceremony.
A display located in the lobby of the broadcast facilities at Missouri Southern State University features the award recipients.
A video featuring a documentary about the television program
"Teen Hop" is posted on the KGCS YouTube site.

The 2019 awards program honored the iconic Joplin television program "Teen Hop," which aired on KODE-TV from 1958 - 1975. An awards program on April 30, 2019 featured a video with oral history interviews from participants in the program, and the presentation of the award.

Three area media professionals were honored in 2017.
