Semester internships may be arranged locally, regionally, nationally or internationally. Students graduate with foundational knowledge in best practices and methods for managing arts organizations and foundations. Graduates of the Arts Management and Leadership Certificate emerge prepared for fulfilling careers in nonprofits and social enterprise, public agencies and foundations, arts collectives, and creative communities.

Certificate Objectives

By the end of this certificate, students will have developed an understanding of the critical areas which arts administrators must manage within their chosen field, including: Development, Fundraising, Budgeting, Grant writing, Marketing, and Audience Development. Additionally, students will have engaged with a number of professionals in their field of arts administration, participated in an Internship, and discovered advanced concepts applied by arts administrators.

Exit Portfolio

Students earning a Certificate in Arts Management and Leadership will have to maintain a GPA of 3.25 or higher in all courses and have a positive internship review completed by the institution / company the student interned with during the course of the certificate.
