The Southern Symphonic Chorus is comprised of the MSSU Concert Chorale and community singers from Joplin and the surrounding four-state area, under the direction of conductor Travis Kornegay, Visiting Director of Choral Activities. Community singers rehearse once a week starting the first Thursday of February. The week before the performance, both choirs come together to form the Southern Symphonic Chorus.
