Pursue an exciting and rewarding career in the field of law enforcement, politics or international affairs with one of Missouri Southern State University's Justice Studies programs. At MSSU, we value experiences and learning opportunities in all of their forms, including those found outside of your textbooks. We are one of the few schools in the state with a robust criminal justice center that includes a hands-on CSI lab and shooting range. Our programs offer a variety of concentrations and emphasis for you to browse and eventually discover your calling, whether it's to law enforcement or the realm of international and political affairs. Regardless of your chosen path, MSSU's Justice Studies programs will prepare you as a thoughtful global citizen ready to help others in a variety of fields spanning the federal and private sectors, and everything in between.
Interested in a career in justice studies? Learn all about the program, tour the facility, and meet with our faculty and staff at the next Justice Studies Discovery Day. The event will be held on October 17, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Our law enforcement department is proud to offer hands-on simulated experiences you're not likely to receive at other criminal justice programs. Our fully equipped patrol cars, mobile crime scene lab and a simulated apartment crime scene afford students valuable opportunities for mentorship in practice scenarios. The MSSU Law Enforcement Academy is certified by the Missouri Department of Public Safety to offer a basic 600-hour law enforcement academy, providing students with the training required to become eligible to be licensed peace officers in the State of Missouri.
