Established in 1979, the Université de Savoie has 12,000 students spread among its three campuses at Chambéry, Annecy, and le Bourget du Lac. Chambéry, the historic capital of the Savoie region, is situated amidst the magnificent scenery of the Alps. The city of 120,000 is three hours from Paris by TGV (high-speed train) and close to some of the best-known ski resorts in France. The exchange program is geared for MSSU business majors who wish to study commerce, tourism, international management, economics and finance, and communication/hypermedia (Annecy campus). An intensive French language preparation program begins on Sept. 1 every year, prior to the start of the fall semester, and lasts 15 days. The cost is 180€.
The fall semester begins around Sept. 1, with final examinations in January. The Spring semester begins around Feb. 1, with final examinations in May. Dates for registration and enrollment will be sent to the MSSU Institute of International Studies in March and October of every year. Students also must register with Campus France well in advance of their departure date.
