The Hansung International Summer School (HISS) is full of instructive classroom lectures combined with hands-on activities in which students can learn the genuine aspect of Korea, have fun, and build lifelong friendships with fellow students from all over the world. Students who complete the courses earn 4 credit hours (3 credits for Introduction to Korea and Its Culture and 1 credit for Basic Korean Language). Language of instruction is English.

Introduction to Korea and Its Culture is taught by multiple experts in the fields of political science, history, economics, and the arts. Classes on politics will cover the establishment of governments on the two sides of the peninsula, foreign relations, and unification policy. Field trips include the Samsung Innovation Museum, the Demilitarized Zone (D.M.Z.), pottery making in Icheon, the National Museum of Korea, the Changdeokgung Palace and the Andong Hahoe Folk Village (UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites), Gyeongju City (the ancient capital of the Shilla Dynasty), a taekwondo class by a certified master, the War Memorial of Korea, Hyundai Motors, and an LG Twins baseball game.
