Professional Licensure and Certification
34 CFR 668.14(b)(32) of the Higher Education Act includes regulations regarding Federal Student Aid (Title IV funds) certification and participation. These U.S. Department of Education regulations require disclosures related to whether an academic programs designed to lead to professional licensure or certification. Applicable academic programs include fields such as education, healthcare, and law enforcement, where state-specific licensure is often necessary.
Prior to enrollment into a licensure or certification program, schools must disclose whether the program meets or does not meet the licensure/certification requirements in the State or U.S. territory in which the student is located at the time of initial enrollment in the program and the State or U.S. territory in which the student plans to practice.
