International Student Requirements

What do I need to bring with me?

If you have a vaccine record, please bring it with you.

Does my vaccine record need to be translated to English?

Yes, all records should be translated to English prior to arriving. Students are not allowed to translate their own vaccine records. If you have attended another university in the United States, it may be helpful to bring health records from that university.

When will I come to the Health Center for my check-in and what should I expect?

You will complete a medical history form during orientation, and the Health Center staff will review requirements with you individually during your check-in appointment at orientation. International students should NOT upload their documents through MED+Proctor, just bring them to check-in. If you will be arriving early or late, the International Department staff will help you schedule an appointment with our office. You are unable to start classes until your Health Center check-in is complete.

Will you accept a Tuberculosis (TB) test or chest x-ray from another country?

No, only TB tests done in the United States will be accepted. When you come to the Health Center during your orientation, the nurse will help you complete your TB risk assessment and determine if you need a TB test. If you do need a TB test, we will draw a blood sample and results will be available in 7-10 days.

If you have a positive TB test in the United States, you will be required to have a chest x-ray in the United States.

How much money should I bring with me?

Your Health Center charges can be paid with cash, check or billed to your student account and paid for at a later date. We do not accept debit or credit cards. The Health Center does not bill Health Insurance. If immunization or x-ray is necessary, we will work to send you to a local medical facility that does bill insurance. Your charges will vary depending on what testing is needed. This will be determined at your check-in appointment at the Health Center during your orientation. You should plan to pay anywhere from $0-$400.
