Regalia will be ordered by the student directly from Jostens and shipped to the address of your choice within the United States. To ensure timely delivery, please allow 7 weeks for shipping. 

MSSU Bookstore

The MSSU bookstore has a limited supply of regalia at discounted costs available.

  • Associate degrees: Blue gown, cap, and tassel
  • Bachelor’s degree: Black gown, cap, and tassel
  • Master’s degree: Black gown and cap. Hood and tassel color are dependent on field of study
    • Education (Teaching, Curriculum & Instruction, Administration): Light blue
    • Business (MBA): Drab  
    • Data Analytics: Science Gold
    • Justice Studies: Purple
    • Sports Recreation and Management: Sage Green

Honor Cords Pick up locations and contacts


Students who have earned regalia cords should plan to pick up the cords from the appropriate office at least one week prior to the ceremony.  Wear your cords to commencement.  Please see the list below for the location of your cord:

  • Eligibility for consideration for any of the three Latin honors requires the candidate to have studied at MSSU during their junior and senior years, and earned a minimum of 45 credit hours with the specified cumulative GPA. Please note that the GPA used is the last cumulative GPA on file. Actual Latin honors earned will be determined after final grades of the last semester has been posted and the specified GPA is attained.

Convocation Medallions

First-time freshmen who attended the First-Year Student Convocation ceremony the weekend prior to their fall semester received a medallion on a green lanyard. Students are instructed to keep their medallions and when it is time to graduate, stop by the Student Success Center, Hearnes 308 Office to swap out their green lanyard for a gold one and wear it at graduation.

International Stoles for Study Abroad

 Students who received MSSU academic credit for studying abroad through an MSSU-sponsored or recognized program should plan to pick up their stole from Webster Hall 239.

Master's Degree Candidates Hooding

Students receiving a master’s degree need to bring their hood to the commencement ceremony for hooding at the ceremony.
